Hosted by Stuart Evans Resolving Business Disputes Talkshop

Thursday 24th July 2008 / 05.30pm / Members and members' staff £85 + VAT

Description

This talkshop will be a concise and pragmatic way to boost your own or your staff’s knowledge of resolving business disputes. We have planned the event so that it falls at the end of the day rather than take up an entire day or half day.

In our recent Sponsor Survey we asked people if they would be interested in a new type of event called a Talk Shop. A Talk Shop is designed to be a short focused 90 minute session on a specific topic hosted by a subject matter expert. Talk Shops will allow you to gain both an overview of a specific subject and also enable you to have your own questions answered by the expert hosting the session.

Our innovative format provides a unique opportunity to:
  • raise specific points for discussion confidentially
  • get an overview and advice from a subject matter expert
  • learn from the experiences of a peer group at the same time
  • share successes and challenges

If you are looking for an environment for self development and somewhere to get credible, pragmatic and timely advice from a partner level expert and a select peer group of high growth business owners and managers this event is for you.

To get the most from this event please prepare any issues and questions you would like to raise. Starting at 5.30pm, after an initial introduction from Rawlison Butler representative Stuart Evans, the interactive talkshop will commence. The talkshop will finish around 7pm.

Typical areas to be discussed (depending on attendees’ demands):

  • An overview of a range of different approaches to resolving disputes
  • Simple mistakes to avoid
  • Tips for stopping the dispute ending up in court
  • The problems of instigating court proceedings
  • Recent developments in law that change the way disputes are handled
  • Examples of recent cases and some learnings on things could have been handled differently

Who’s this for?

This workshop event is aimed at members or their senior staff who want to learn more about how to resolve business disputes and also an opportunity to explore in more detail some key areas of contention.
